BOLERO effects and bolero jackets proper stand out on some of the newest models of the French couturiers and are being worn on smart afternoon costumes, especially the later styles chosen for afternoon card parties and matinees.
They are jaunty adjuncts of filmy lace and net blouses, serving their purpose in relating a skirt to the gown as a whole and making it much more, becoming to mary
wearers than the dress which has a dwindling line of color at the belt. Finely platted chiffon forma the front and the full sleeves, whose frill of net corresponds with the Medici collar in the neck The high collar is still tabooed.
The skirt or this dress is cut in three pieces and has a two-piece tunic, with the interesting jabot draping at the left side a striking effect is had in the contrast of the lining of the jabot, when one cares to introduce decided color effects. The original gown pictured here is developed in old blue satin, with pale pink chiffon blouse and the bolero facing of velvet matching the satin.
A very beautiful line of spring fabrics are coming in printed deigns in eloigned material - of plain ground Persian, design are shown in dull rich colorings, to be used as this model suggests, with the fancy fabric for the overskirt. The vogue of combining two or more materials is a welcome one for the sake of economy which one has a gown of list season to make over.
